Optimizing Internationalization for Development Teams with Globalyzer 3.5

Some of the greater new sales opportunities for software are outside of the US, requiring a serious software development approach to internationalization and world-ready code. But internationalizing large software applications can be challenging in terms of time, resources, and money. Even after achieving localized releases, you still have to keep applications world-ready for global customers. All this creates opportunities to apply tools that help engineers adapt and continuously develop internationalized software.

Globalyzer, a client/server software system, helps entire teams find, fix and monitor internationalization issues in their source code. The i18n tool steps engineers through internationalization issues in a wide variety of programming languages and helps entire development teams internationalize source code, both initially and as an integral part of future releases.

In this 45-minute webinar recording, Adam Asnes and Olivier Libouban of Lingoport provide a general overview of Globalyzer and demonstrate how the tool finds, categorizes, tracks, and helps fix internationalization bugs in source code using static analysis. Asnes and Libouban also demonstrate new Globalyzer 3.5 features, including:

  • Prioritizing embedded string detections
  • NLS Tagging source code allowing developers and teams to quickly focus on important findings, while bypassing ‚Äúfalse positive‚ÄĚ detections not already filtered
  • New XML-based reporting abilities for monitoring and managing ongoing globalization work as part of the build process
  • An easy way to partition the internationalization work within your development team
  • Managing and tracking internationalization efforts one locale-sensitive area at a time,
  • And the Copy Scan feature, which allows users to easily streamline their project creation
