Localization at Smartsheet with Carsten Kneip Webinar cover

Building Localization from Scratch at Smartsheet

What if you were the one person hired to transform a company into a localized and globally focused product company?

Join us for a talk with Carsten Kneip, Director of Localization at Smartsheet.

Guest: Carsten Kneip

Director of Localization at Smartsheet

Carsten joined Smartsheet in late 2021 to lead its shift toward more strategic globalization. At the time, localization was fragmented, with minimal resources and no shared glossaries. Under his leadership, the company built a scalable program now supporting 7 languages, using automation and tools like Localyzer.

When Carsten joined Smartsheet, there was no centralized approach to localization. Carsten had to make some changes to move the mindset of the company such as:

  • Establishing best practices for localization
  • Getting the message across to stakeholders
  • Educating developers to understand i18n and Localization requirements
  • Bringing on vendors
  • Launching tooling
  • Hiring the right people to make it work

In this webinar, we’ll learn from Carsten’s experience, and the results and challenges going forward.
